The American Dream

They’ve been saying the American Dream is dead.
They’ve claimed my generation has lost hope.
They’ve declared it no longer attainable.
Let me tell you something: they’re dead wrong.
The American Dream is alive and roaring in the heart of every man and woman willing to fight for it. You don’t need to start at the top. You start exactly where you are, with the God-given freedom this country still grants you. It’s not about where you begin, it’s about the fire in your soul and the willingness to go out there and get it.
I don’t own a home.
I don’t have a six-figure job.
I don’t have a huge bank account.
But I am living the American Dream — you bet your tail I am.
I don’t come from a powerful family or a famous name. If I moved across the country tomorrow, nobody would know who I was. But because of the grace of God and the unmatched liberty this nation provides, I’m chasing greatness anyway. I’m running for city council to serve the community I love.
That’s the American Dream.
I failed the first time I ran — and America didn’t coddle me. Good people looked me in the eye and said, “Brush the dust off, stand up, and go again.” I can pick up the phone and actually help my neighbors when they need it. That’s freedom. That’s opportunity.
This Dream isn’t about what the country can do for me. It’s about what I can do for my country. It’s busting my tail so I can one day own that home. It’s gritting my teeth, putting my head down, and building something worth passing on. It’s refusing to stay down when the world tells you to quit.
So yes, I’m running for city council. I want real change for the place I call home. But more than that, I want to be living proof to every American who’s been lied to and told to give up:
The American Dream is not dead. It’s waiting for those with the courage to claim it.
